Random/Weekend

This weekend was the first time I went home since I've been here, so I was pretty pumped on Tuesday. Comp was my only class that day and we got done at 9:45 an we werent leaving till 4:30 it was probably the longest day of my entire life. After waiting all day for my friends dad to come get us we had a 5 hour drive back to Minnesota...that took a while. It was nice to go home for the first time and see all my family and friends but I missed my friends here too and I was ready to come back. I'm going to miss my home cooked meals though and my bed. I strongly do not like the weather I came back to though. I liked it last night when it was 50 out but now its too cold, windy, and snowy! Even though I'm from Minnesota I should be used to this but I wasnt ready... Thats about all.

#3 on Page 244

I'm not exactly sure how but I believe the buttler says more than he actually says. I think he plays a bigger role than we know. I know he doesnt say anything in the story at all, but it just makes me wonder how could he be living with emily and not be able to help her out, or tell anyone about Homer. Did he know if Emily was buying the rat poison or not? I also wonder why he doesnt talk to her or try to be her friend if nobody else in the town will. I'm not sure if this is going to really go anywhere in a paper but hopefully I can turn it into something.

Young Goodman Brown

I enjoyed reading this story. I liked how it got started right away and didnt take long to explain things. What I noticed in the story was that Goodman was a "pure" man who lived in a "pure" town, and his wife faith represented his faith. The forrest that he went in represented temptation, and in the forrest he found the devil. I cant decide if it actually happened or if it was all just a dream.

A Rose For Emly

I thought this story was really interesting. It was a very easy read, but it wasnt my favorite. The ending was really weird, I didnt think she would have kept a dead body for so long. I almost felt a little bad for her because she was slightly insane and nobody in the town cared to do anything. I want to know what kept the buttler from telling anyone about the body. I think Emily had something on him, something he had done in the past, or he helped kill him. I'm not sure but overall it wasnt a terrible story, and I liked that you have to think for yourself of what really could have happened, there are so many questions!

The Most Dangerous Game

I enjoyed reading The Most Dangerous game. It was a lot more suspensful than the other one. Like many people said in our class I agree this story got interesting really fast, instead of taking forever to introduce all the characters in the story, and explain the story. I didnt notice it in the story but what Christina said about how when everything was black, or dark something bad would happen. It is interesting to think about.

It still creeps my out to this day thinking that my teacher had his eyes on my. I always thought he was a nice, but strange man. He was a great teacher until I heard from Brom that he liked me as more than just a student. I cant believe it! I can still feel his eyes staring at me in the classroom... Its a feeling I want to but will probably never forget.

Buffy

I enjoyed watching the show in class. It was a nice little break after writing the huge paper... The show was a lot different than most shows today. Most of the special effects werent as real looking, the outfits/clothes people were wearing you wouldnt see people wearing today, and it was a little more cheesy. There also was a lot of stereotypes in the show also. There was your typical group of friends; the quiet girl, the girl with the "perfect life", and the boy who has a secret crush on the other girl. They also made it seem like the guys were supposed to be the ones to save the day and women were supposed to just sit back and wait, but because everything was opposite in the movie the women took control. Over all it was a good show and I liked it.
